ISAAC SELLAM EXPERIENCE – Avant-Garde Parisian Leatherwear & Experimental Textile Design

Exploring the world of ISAAC SELLAM EXPERIENCE

ISAAC SELLAM EXPERIENCE is the flagship line of Parisian designer Isaac Sellam — a label built on the fusion of sculptural design, advanced leather-craft and experimental textile work. While the brand is internationally known for its exceptional leather jackets and coats, its collections extend far beyond leather: waxed cotton outerwear, technical fabric layers, garment-washed wools and treated jersey pieces all feature within the brand’s full wardrobe.Founded in 2002 after 15 years of intensive research into hide selection, tanning, treatment and garment construction, ISAAC SELLAM EXPERIENCE approaches clothing as engineered sculpture. Each piece is handcrafted in-house in Paris with meticulous attention to texture, structure and finish, resulting in garments that embody raw elegance and avant-garde refinement.

Origins & Leatherward Legacy

Isaac Sellam’s relationship with leather began at age 16, when he produced his first jacket. Years of training in specialized workshops and collaboration with experienced tanners developed his mastery of leather dyeing, aging, hand-finishing and structural cutting. In 2002 he launched ISAAC SELLAM EXPERIENCE, establishing a Parisian atelier dedicated not just to design, but to material research. The brand’s early identity formed around leather, yet its evolution expanded into technically engineered textiles: coated cotton, structured wool, bonded fabrics, performance blends and experimental jersey. This allows Sellam to apply his architectural design language to a full range of materials — each chosen for its ability to hold shape, develop patina or express texture.

Design Language: Structure, Sculpture & Industrial Refinement

ISAAC SELLAM EXPERIENCE garments are instantly recognizable through their sculptural silhouettes, architectural pattern work and industrial detailing. Signature elements include:
  • Object-dyed and hand-treated leathers with rich tonal depth and natural irregularities
  • Technical fabrics such as coated cotton, nylon blends, and bonded textiles designed for form and durability
  • Structural silhouettes — elongated coats, layered jackets, fitted or curved seams and directional pattern lines
  • Industrial touchpoints like metal staples, reinforced stitching and exposed construction methods
  • Monochrome palettes, typically in black, charcoal and muted neutrals
  • Treated wool, washed cotton and sculptural jersey offering softer yet structured interpretations of the brand’s language
This creates a wardrobe where every piece — leather or textile — embodies the same expressive architecture and quiet intensity.

Materials & Craft: Leather as Core, Fabric as Extension

Leather remains a cornerstone of the brand, but it is treated as one voice within a broader material vocabulary. ISAAC SELLAM EXPERIENCE works with:
  • premium calf, lamb and horse leather
  • crocodile, python and specialty hides in limited pieces
  • waxed and coated cottons
  • structured and garment-washed wools
  • high-performance technical blends
  • sculptural jersey and treated cotton layers
Techniques include object dyeing, hand-distressing, bonding, washing and bespoke finishing methods. These processes imbue each garment with unique tonal shifts, depth and patina — ensuring no two pieces are ever identical.Every item is crafted in the own Paris studio, from hide or fabric selection to final hand-finishing. This small-batch, atelier-style production emphasizes durability, individuality and artisanal integrity.
