ART-DRIVEN TOKYO AVANT-GARDE SHAPED BY FILM, ARCHITECTURE, AND MONOCHROME EMOTION

JULIUS_7 was founded in Tokyo in 2001 by Tatsuro Horikawa, originally as an art and film project before evolving into a clothing line in 2004. The brand’s visual language draws heavily from Horikawa’s deep connection to art, architecture, and industrial subculture. Black and gray dominate each collection — black as a symbol of madness, gray as a symbol of pain — forming an emotional chromatic foundation for the label’s sculptural garments. Silhouettes are often elongated, layered, and atmospheric, blending military influence with monastic restraint.

JULIUS_7 remains one of the core voices of Japanese avant-garde fashion, crafting garments that feel cinematic, architectural, and deeply expressive.
